Wakefield meeting – AMCOG Games

The Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club‘s next meeting will feature Tony Bartram of AMCOG Games as guest speaker.

With quite a catalogue of games developed in a relatively short space of time, Tony’s games cover a number of genres, and he will be discussing 3D graphics and various of his titles, including Island of the Undead and Star Mine (both of which feature 3D graphics), his latest title SCUBA Hunter, Escape from the Arcade, and the game he is currently working on. He will also look at what his plans are, and how RISC OS is an important starting point for his creativity.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 4th March – tomorrow – at 7:45pm at the usual place:

The West Yorkshire Sports and Social Club,
Sandal Hall Close,
Off Walton Lane,
Wakefield,
WF2 6ER.

The venue has ample free parking, and a bar for refreshments.

If you are a member of the Club admission is free, otherwise it costs £3.00 – but membership costs just £15.00 (discounted to £7.50 for the first year) so it’s well worth joining if you can make it to meetings, and even if not there are other benefits:

  • Through those meetings, members often get to see products before their release to the public
  • There is a monthly newsletter featuring news, opinion, hints and tips, etc., delivered by email as a PDF.
  • The Club has a mailing list open to members only for discussion of anything RISC OS-related or otherwise.

Future meetings include Mike Cook on 1st April and Rob Sprowson on 3rd June – and the Club also organises the annual Wakefield Acorn and RISC OS Computer Show, which this year takes place on Saturday, 18th April, at the Cedar Court Hotel – a stone’s throw from junction 39 of the M1.
